Dental Plan

No one should have to be their own dentist or be without any dental insurance benefits . I’m 52 years of age and this is my dental horror story. Back in 2007 I had a badly abcessed tooth. I didn’t have dental insurance and did not have a job to pay the bills. I was also living in pain. I began to have head aches and the infection had spread from my mouth to my right eye. My right side of my face was already swollen. So I finally decided it was time to call the dentist and make that appointment.

They told me I had to have $240.00 up front before they would see me. This was just to have a tooth pulled. The appointment wasn’t for another five days and I didn’t know if I could have tolerated the pain that long. I did’nt even have the funds for the dental procedure, no credit cards and it was the middle of the month. So I sat there and cried in pain. Well I got my nerve up and decided to pull my tooth myself. Well you’ve heard of the tie a string to the door knob trick! Yes it had gotten that bad. I almost passed out after the first pull because of the incredible pain on the side of my face. I sobbed and sobbed. I held that string to my chest and prayed. Finally the Tooth was being eased out. By then it easily came out with no dental pain at all. After a consultation with the Dentist I realized I had been in potentially fatal situation.

The Good Lord saved me that day so I may tell other people like me that you really don’t need to be your own dentist. A job like this should be left to professionals. Now I have my Ameriplan Network and I can actually see a real pro now. Thank God for Ameriplan.

Family Dental Insurance

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

Family dental insurance includes dental services for all the family members, and represents an important aspect of household budget planning because of its high necessity rate. Most people who choose this kind of insurance want their spouse and children to be offered good health care in advantageous financial conditions. Besides the individual insurance, a distinct fee is charged for every plan in order to get coverage. You may select the all included option or create a separate family dental insurance plan for children.

individual family dental insurance

What does family dental insurance cover? The most important benefit results from the cost reduction for fillings, root canals, X-rays, orthodontics, checkups and so on. Before you sign the contract or the agreement with a certain insurer, check all the above mentioned to see whether they are included in the plan or not. It is important to worry not as much about the money as about the extent of the coverage available with a certain company. Therefore, the higher the amount of money you pay, the more extensive the coverage for the services provided.

Family dental insurance means that all the family members are insured for the same fee, while individual insurance is a lot more expensive if taken in comparison. Thus, if you have a more numerous family, the savings will be considerable too. The preference for the family insurance service has determined many company to include such insurance plans in the wage packages they offer to their employers. The important fact is that such a detail of one’s family health doesn’t get overlooked, and that several options are considered before making the choice for one particular plan.

Families can choose between the indemnity insurance plans, managed care dental insurance and discount dental plans. With indemnity plans there is the free choice of the doctor, you make an upfront payment and then a reimbursement is given from the insurer on the basis of the forms you submit with them. The managed care family dental insurance limits service coverage to the doctors within the network; you are good to pay if you visit another doctor. And finally, discount dental plans only reduce dental costs without functioning as insurance. Discounts are often provided by employers that get good health care prices from a certain doctor.
